SBU scored two in the bottom half of the inning to go up 2-1. The Bearcats tied it up in the second inning off the bat of Eric Swain who doubled down the right field line scoring Cam Bedard from second.
The game remained knotted up at 2-2 until the sixth inning when the Bearcats offense began to open up. Swain hit his second double of the game collecting two more RBIs scoring Bedard and Eric McGlauflin to go up 4-2.
Northwest added 12 more runs in the game, eight in the seventh inning and four in the eighth inning to take control of the game. SBU added one in the bottom half of the seventh inning, but that would be it as the Bearcats took game one of the series 16-3.
