Suspect Arrested After Thefts From Dozens Of Vehicles

SJPD BW badgeSt Joseph Police are investigating after as many as 40 vehicles parked on St Joe’s east side had been entered and items taken from inside.

Captain Matt Rock says a suspect has been arrested, and a second subject has come forward with information in the case.

Captain Rock says the vehicles were in the Stonecrest neighborhood and in areas north of Frederick from Leonard Road eastward.

He says the suspects chose mostly unlocked vehicles and did not force entry.  Some stolen property has been recovered.

Police hope you will check your vehicles, and report any losses to the police department. You can do so via the St Joseph Police Department Web site at, or by phone at 271-4692 or 271-4782.

Thanks for the heads up. The phone numbers in the news release included this typo, which I didn’t catch. The post has been updated.

Thank you for posting the info! The first number will not let me call on a cell phone, but the second number I was able to get through on. Even if I am not able to recover my losses, good job SJPD in the apprehension.
