Man charged in crash that killed Kansas woman is out of jail

SEDGWICK COUNT—A suspect charged in a crash that killed a Kansas woman is out of jail. 

 On April 18, Austin Hedges, 24, Greeley, Colorado, was charged with reckless involuntary manslaughter and arrested in Colorado, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. On April 30, Hedges was extradited from Colorado and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail, according to online booking records.

On March 16, a vehicle driven by Hedges was northbound on Rock Road in Wichita and struck a vehicle driven by 82-year-old Kathy Knorr who was turning from Killarney Court onto southbound Rock Road, according to Wichita Police.

EMS transported Knorr to a local hospital. She died on March 30.  Hedges met the conditions of a $100,000 bond for his release from jail.
